BLACK SABBATH Top British Rock Album Poll

February 15, 2005

BLACK SABBATH have topped a list of the 100 best British rock albums of all time, according to Sun Online.

The band's self-titled debut won a poll voted for by readers of Kerrang! magazine, with follow-up "Paranoid" finishing fifth.

Ozzy appears in the list six times, more than any other artist.

Four BLACK SABBATH albums made the Top 100, as well as the star's solo records "Blizzard of Ozz" and "Diary of a Madman".

Ozzy said of making "Black Sabbath": "Back then you'd hear, 'if you go to San Francisco, be sure to wear a flower in your hair'.

"And we were like, 'what the fuck are they on about?'

"We lived in Aston, Birmingham, in drizzly rain. The only flowers I ever saw were on a gravestone in our local cemetery."
